Keke Palmer to Become Youngest Talk Show Host in History

From starring in Akeelah and the Bee to landing a leading role on Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP, Keke Palmer will once again grace our television screens; but this time, with her very own  talk show.

The Keke Palmer Project, as it is tentatively titled, will be a daily show targeting millennial audiences. It will focus on fashion, pop culture and social issues, in addition to celebrity interviews and “on the street” segments. BET Networks and Telepictures, alongside Judge Greg Mathis, who was helped establish the relationship between Palmer and Telepictures, will serve as an executive producer. The 20-year-old actress and singer will be the youngest in television history to host her own show.

In the BET press release, Palmer sites her love for discussing issues with her fans on social media as one of many reasons for going after this project.

“I like to read quotes that touch on how I am feeling,” she noted in the press release. “If I am dealing with confusion, I will read quotes about clarity and peace of mind. I started posting these quotes on my Twitter page, and the fans responded so positively!” Palmer said. “I realized that many of them were dealing with similar issues, and the quotes helped to open up a genuine dialogue between us.”

“The Keke Palmer Project” is set for a four-week test run on BET this July.
