Mike Tyson Reveals Talks of Jamie Foxx Portraying Him in Biopic

Mike Tyson

From playing cornerman, Drew ‘Bundini’ Brown, in the Ali biopic with Will Smith to an Oscar-winning role in Ray as Ray Charles, Jamie Foxx is reportedly in discussions to play Mike Tyson in his proposed biopic.

Known for his comedy acts as impersonating Tyson, Foxx revealed his interest in portraying the former heavyweight boxer during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael in May.

“I got a chance to hang out with Mike when Mike was at his height,” he said,” and I watched [him] go from his height to where he is now, and I talked to him about doing his story. I think that story would be fantastic … and I had my makeup artist dress me up as Mike Tyson … People were literally coming up asking for autographs. So hopefully, Mike, if you’re listening, let’s make history.”

Being so close in age, Tyson, 48, revealed that the same CGI technology that transformed Brad Pitt in David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button would be used to help Foxx, 46, play a younger version of him. Tyson was previously the center of James Toback’s documentary, “Tyson.”

Check out Foxx’s interview from May below; his discussion about Tyson begins at the 5:00 mark and continues around 6:45.
