Nominate an Exceptional Youth for a $10K Scholarship Today #365BlackAwards

This is part of a sponsored campaign with McDonald’s®. All opinions are my own.

I am always so impressed when I see a young person giving back through community service.  My first thought is that this child is going to be a leader, and then I think of how fortunate he/she is to experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from giving.

One of the best ways to encourage our youth to give back to their community is to be examples ourselves. When our kids see us giving back, it encourages them to get involved.

And one of the best ways to keep our youth interested in community service is to support their efforts and encourage them. And that’s exactly what McDonald’s® is doing with their 365Black Community Choice Youth Award.

McDonald’s USA is looking to recognize amazing teens who make a difference within their communities through vision, compassion and diligence. And for the first time ever, they are looking to the community to help select this year’s Community Choice Youth Award.

From now through May 31, everyone can visit www.365black.com to nominate an exceptional teen who may be honored at this year’s ceremony alongside celebrities, philanthropists and influencers, and take home a $10,000 scholarship. Two recipients, one male and one female, will be recognized during the star-studded event which will be held Saturday, July 5 during the 20th annual ESSENCE FestivalTM presented by Coca-Cola® in New Orleans.

“McDonald’s is committed to being deeply rooted in the community and we’re proud to partner with our neighbors nationwide to find this year’s Community Choice Youth Award nominees,” said Rob Jackson, McDonald’s U.S. marketing director. “As today’s youth are inventors, entrepreneurs, educators and more, we are excited to applaud their success during this celebrated and notable ceremony.”
