Old Hollywood Wedding in Chicago

There’s is something about the glamour and elegance of “yesteryear” that has always captured me. Before I got engaged, I always knew the theme of my wedding would be “Old Hollywood in Chicago”. Let’s go back down memory lane to the best day of my life: September 6, 2014.

Our ceremony was held at the Parkway Ballroom, here in Chicago. I am blessed to have a super creative mom, who transformed the modern space into a vintage dream. Check out these amazing chandelier & ostrich feather center pieces she made for our big day:

Every detail had to be elegant, including the table for the bridal party:

For the reception I wore a birdcage veil, by Ruffle Couture. It gave me the fun, yet classic look I desired:

Our groomsmen carried pocket watches and our bridesmaids carried fans, instead of flowers. Pure class:

My “something blue” were my Badgley Mischka shoes from My Glass Slipper, and my bouquet was a brooch bouquet handmade by Pressley & Co. Instead of having to throw my bouquet away, it’s now sitting in a vase in our bedroom:

No vintage wedding is complete without a photo booth. A huge thanks to Big Hugs Photo Booth for making our wedding dreams come true.

Our wedding wouldn’t have been complete without us “jumping the broom”. This is a symbolic way to honor our ancestors who were slaves and only form of marriage consisted of jumping the broom.

BMWK: What do you guys think? Were we able to pull off the “Old Hollywood Wedding in Chicago” successfully?
