SayAhh! How to Determine if Your Sick Kids Are Bringing the Drama or If They Really Need a Doctor

It’s only been three weeks since our girls have been back in school and one of them has already missed three days of school because of a virus.  And, I have missed two days of work because I caught it from her (thank goodness it was Thursday and Friday and I still had the weekend to recuperate). This cold and flu cycle has started too early this school-year!

As a parent, I’m faced with doing the right things to ensure that my babies are on the road to recovery and are not getting worse.  I don’t want to go to the doctor’s office if it is not necessary.  But then again, I don’t want to regret not going and being faced with high temperatures and a suffering child in the middle of the night.

It’s a hard call for parents to make especially for me, since some of my kids are known for bringing the drama (meaning a stubbed toe and a broken leg get the exact same reaction from them).  This makes it very difficult to determine if pain-reliever and a cough-suppressant are in order, or if a trip to the doctor’s office is needed.

Since my kids are older and their ear-infections have pretty much stopped, my biggest fear is strep throat or the flu.  And it’s that fear that keeps me going to the doctor’s office time after time.

I would say, at least for my kids, 4 out of 5 trips to the doctor’s office were not necessarily needed.  There was no strep throat, no flu, and there was no medicine prescribed.  I was sent home with a list of over-the-counter meds to purchase (but that I already had) and a whole list of bills to pay for the lab tests and the doctor’s visit.  The only thing that cured the kids was time, rest, and their mother’s t-l-c.

This is why I am so happy that I have at least one more tool that will help me make an informed decision on how to best treat my kids when they are sick.  And since my biggest fear now-a-days is strep throat, this tool is right on time.

The SayAhh! Sore Throat Home Exam Aid is the latest and greatest tool for moms to add to our supply of must-have cough/cold products. It’s basically a tool that helps me check out our kids’ throats.  (This was basically impossible for me to do without this tool.) And, it also provides medical-grade illustrations information to help us (as moms) make a more informed decision on what to do next.

The SayAhh! and Flashlight made it easier for me to observe my daughter’s throat.

Here are the details on what’s included:

The SayAhh! packaging comes with a medical-grade, illustrated chart and clear pictures and descriptions of six common throat ailments, providing the user a solid basis for comparison to what should be seen in a normal throat
