Spotlight: 3 Talented Youths that Are Standing Above the Rest

You may have read or heard about these talented individuals. Good news travels fast and for some, it goes viral. Oakland high school senior, Akintunde Ahmad, LSU gymnast Lloimincia Hall and 10-year-old Canadian twins, Nia and Imani Lindsay show the world they aren’t playing any games when it comes following their dreams while staying true to themselves.

Imani and Nia Lindsay

Citing dancer, Misty Copeland, as one of their biggest idols, Imani and Nia Lindsay have earned a scholarship (half a scholarship each) to one of the most prestigious  schools for dancers, the American Ballet Theatre, for their Young Dancer Summer Workshop. On top of being recognized for their beautiful rhythm and their gorgeous natural hair, they speak fluent Spanish and French!

Lloimincia Hall

On four separate competitions this season, Louisiana State University gymnast, Lloimincia Hall, has scored perfect 10s on her floor routine helping lead her team to advance to the NCAA championships. Outside of her outstanding athletic ability and on-point landings, Hall’s moves and choices of music have made her an Internet sensation. Dancing to the sounds of Frankie Beverly and Maze and Earth, Wind & Fire, Hall has the crowd on their feet with every sequence. Check out her performance here:

Akintunde Ahmad

He may describe himself as an ordinary “street dude,” but his achievements are clearly extraordinary. At age 17, Akintunde Ahmad has a 5.0 g.p.a., an S.A.T. score of 2100 and acceptance letters from several top schools in the country. While he admits he’s often misjudged by his six-foot-one stature and long dreadlocks, he plays three instruments and is a leading baseball player in his division. Ahmad has been invited to play at Yale, but says he’s undecided between Yale or Brown to study pre-med or pre-law.

We wish them all continued success!
