Spring Break Ideas: 5 Great Game Apps for Traveling with Kids

Have you ever been driven crazy by your kids on a family trip with the dreaded ‘are we there yet’ question?  In today’s wonderful world of apps, there’s really an app for that!  (lol) Well, there are several fun game apps to keep the kids busy while you watch your favorite shows or play your own favorite game apps.

One of the most popular travel game apps for kids is Travel Bingo. A delightful twist on the old classic, kids look for items like road signs, animals, cars and people.  Whoever finds/sees all the items first wins and gets to yell ‘Bingo!’ (lol)  Travel Bingo costs 99 cents in the iTunes store.

Who sank my battleship?! One of my favorite games to play with my brother, Battleship is now available in a 3D app version for just 99 cents.  Battleship is available on both iPhones/iPads and Android devices.

For the little artist in the family, Let’s Color is a fun creative app.  This drawing app has 18 different scenes that kids can use their imagination to color.  Once they’ve created their own masterpiece, kids hit the ‘go’ button and it becomes animated.  Let’s Color  lets’ your kids create their own short cartoon/movie.  The app is free for iPad users with 16 additional scenes available for $1.99.

To find more fun travel apps for kids, visit www.appskidslove.com.  One of our favorite apps on this site is the Matching Animal Pairs app/game.  This app helps develop kid’s memory skills.  In this app, kids have to match memory cards of baby animals.  Another favorite on this site is Cars Jigsaw Puzzle. Kids complete the car puzzle and then an animated film plays teaching the kids all about the car.  Fabulous fun!

All of these apps are great for family adventures on planes (headphones maybe needed lol), trains, and automobiles.  Be sure to download all of your apps days before your trip and even pack special prizes for winners of the shared games.

Happy Travels!
