Spring Break Ideas: Fun Family Activities in Los Angeles

When traveling to Los Angeles, California, you’re bound to lose track of time because there is so much to see and do! From celebrity sightings to the historical sights of Old (and new) Hollywood, this Southern California city is sure to please everyone. Here are a few fun things for the family to do in L.A.

The Grove

Do yourself a favor, and visit this retail and entertainment complex, but do it with caution. There is so much to do inside, you’ll spend an eternity just trying to decide what to do. Department stores, novelty kiosks, movie theater, restaurants and live entertainment. Did you know that this is also where they film the T.V. show Extra hosted by Mario Lopez? Fun, fun, fun!

Santa Monica Pier

This attraction is more that just cotton candy and a Ferris wheel. It’s a 100 year old landmark that happens to have an awesome aquarium, beautiful shoreline, carnival rides, food and so much more! For us, it was the fascination of all things Route 66 and of course, the delicious popcorn. For the kids, it was all about the arcade and the churros! Give this attraction a try. It’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser for the entire family.

Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum

Located in the heart of Hollywood, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum satisfies your cravings for celebrity sightings and places them all under one roof! This awesome museum is filled with amazingly accurate celebrity replicas that sometimes even required a double take. We’ve gone to several of these across the country, and and this location seems to have more of a variety of celebrities to enjoy.

Dylan’s Candy Bar

Candy. Need I say more? As mentioned earlier, The Grove is must see for your L.A. trip. One of the shops in The Grove is Dylan’s Candy Bar. This candy store chain is hands-down fun! We enjoyed the nostalgic candies, and the bright colors just made you feel like a kid again! Speaking of kids, if you have don’t mind the sugar rush, stop in and let them scoop delicious confections until their heart’s are content. (Pssst…Try the grapefruit gummy bears. Delish!)
