I’m not the type of person that has to have the hottest new device as soon as it comes out. I usually get something that I like and “I ride it until the wheels fall off.” Which is exactly what I did with my iPhone 4. Yes, I know the iPhone 6 is out and is all the rage.
But I was perfectly content with my iPhone 4, that is until it literally went black one day and would not cut on again…ever. And, the fact that I had to get a new phone did not upset me. It was probably long overdue. However, the thing that really upset was the fact that I lost all of my precious pictures.
As soon as the phone died, I logged onto the iCloud to see if my pictures and my music were there. And they were not! Only my contacts were there.
I lost all of the pictures I took last summer when my kids and I went home to visit my parents. All of my parents’ 11 grandkids were in one place at one time and we took some great pictures. I lost the pictures that my dad took with my kids when they went fishing and when they went to see my uncle (their great uncle) and picked vegetables from his garden. And I lost countless photos and videos from school events and activities throughout the year.
I had years worth of memories on my phone that I never backed up…which is probably why it died on me.
What was the point of capturing those memories if I was never going to use them or share them.
I learned a big lesson that day – I was a phone hoarder. I kept storing pictures and photos, and videos onto my phone, that was getting rather sluggish, until it finally died on me. And what was the point of capturing those memories if I was never going to use them or share them.
Of course, hindsight is 20/20. But now, I am so glad to have the SanDisk iXpand: Flash drive for your iPad that provides an easy way to transfer photos & videos between iPhones, iPads, PCs and Mac computers. (And if you are anything like me, easy and convenience are the characteristics that are most important to me about this device.)

iXpand is perfect for me because I really need to be able to backup or transfer my photos in the least amount of steps possible. The first time you hook it up to your iPhone or iPad, you will be prompted to download the iXpand Sync app.
The cool thing about it is that you can automatically sync photos and videos from the camera roll when connected and also auto delete the transferred content to free up space.

Don’t be a phone hoarder like me, back up your photos, print out your photos and you’ll be able to keep your photos forever.
