The BMWK Weekend Travel Guide: Free Concerts in the Park!

In our new weekend travel guide we will profile fabulous spas, fun summer events, family road trips, couples retreats, music festivals and any event that will make your weekend one to remember!

Concerts in the park have always been a summer weekend favorite in cities all across America and the nation’s capital is no different. The Fort DuPont Park summer concert series continues with another great lineup this season. July welcomed Regina Belle’s Luther tribute and the Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston. Celebrating its 39th year, the summer concert series continues this Saturday (8/6) with funk and R&B legends “The Barkays” with an opening performance by summer music festival favorites, FrameWerk.

Next Saturday is set with a unique performance by R&B favorites Mandrill. Concerts start at 8 p.m., rain or shine. Put on your summer best, pack a picnic dinner, and head over to Fort DuPont Park for some great old school music!

“Friends of Fort DuPont Park ¹” enjoy special priority seating down front.

Remember all summer concerts are free!
