After the overwhelming success of The Best Man Holiday, writer and director Malcolm D. Lee has announced that the 3rd installment, The Best Man Wedding, is due in theaters on April 15, 2016.
The cast from the first two movies will be returning, including Taye Diggs, Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Harold Perrineau, Regina Hall, and Melissa De Sousa. More than likely, Monica Calhoun will not return for this installment.
Holiday won 3 awards and got 15 nominations. The end of the movie hinted at a follow up. Therefore, the film is expected to revolve around Terrence Howard’s character, Quentin on his upcoming nuptials.
The original movie, which was released in 1999, earned $35.1 million domestically, and last year’s release brought in $70.5 million. Universal Pictures is the producer of all three films.
