Travel Tuesday: Miami’s Favorite Weekend Is Back!


It’s that time of year again, the weekend celebrating the best in wine and food is back and it’s all happening on South Beach in Miami. Your favorite celebrity chefs will be in town cooking up their best dishes at the Food Network’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

An already hot and happening city gets even hotter as the grills and ovens are fired up Thursday, February 23 through Sunday, February 26. The festival will feature fabulous interactive cooking demonstrations, wine classes, tastings and lifestyle seminars at Miami’s finest hotels/restaurants.

If you missed them at the NYC or Atlantic City festivals, don’t worry””BMWK’s favorite married cooking couple is back. Pat & Gina Neely will be hosting an exciting cooking demonstration at the famous Biltmore Hotel. The Neely’s will host a Memphis-style interactive cooking lesson/dinner on Saturday 2/25 from 7-11 p.m. If your dream is to have a grilling lesson with Pat and get a personal lesson in creating fabulous cocktails from Gina, this is your chance. Tickets for the Neely’s Interactive Dinner presented by Creekstone Farms are $225. After the demonstration, participants will enjoy dinner with the Neely’s while blues artist Bobby Bryan performs.

This festival also has fun cooking events for the little chefs in the family. Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri will host the Fun & Fit As A Family cooking demonstration sponsored by Carnival. This fun event teaches the whole family the basics of preparing healthy meals in the Kellogg’s Kidz Kitchen. The fun happens at the popular Jungle Island attraction. From 10am to5 pm on Sunday (2/26) participants can explore the food garden and Jungle Islands’ exotic animals while cooking healthy. For this event tickets are an amazing $20!
