In the most heart warming news, a suburban New York twosome will celebrate the husband’s 108th birthday today. His wife will make 105 in May. The two have been married for 82 years.
Duranord Veillard was born Feb. 28, 1907, and grew up in Les Cayes in southern Haiti, according to USA Today. He has been married to his wife, Jeanne Veillard, since 1932. The couple is thought to be the oldest couple in suburban New York City’s Rockland county.
Duranord studied law in Haiti and went on to become a judge there. He and his wife raised five children, and immigrated to the United States in 1968, settling in Spring Valley, NY. The couple has 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren between them, reports USA Today.
“He remembers everything,” said his son, Vely Veillard, 62 to the newsite. “Look at him! He don’t want to use a cane. He’s a superstar.” The couple lives with their daughter Marie Eveillard.
