With all that’s on his plate – global peace, a lingering recession, unemployment, gas prices rising, a national education crisis – it would be understandable if the most powerful man in the world only wanted the gig for four years instead of eight.
In a recent Today Show interview, Ann Curry asked President Obama if he’d be happy with one term. He smiled.
“What keeps me going is the belief that the work we started in 2009 is not yet complete,” he said. “Michelle and the kids are wonderful in that, if I said, ‘I want to do something different,’ they’d be fine. They’re not invested in Daddy being president, or my husband being president. But they do believe in what we’re doing.”
