I got the idea for this post from a list of questions on being a father that I saw over on theRawDawgBuffalo Site. One of the questions which were mostly about what it means to be a father and a man was how do you react when your team loses.
Just the mere question brought back bad memories of losses gone past.BMWK family I still feel the pain. I discussed this one question with the mom because it is something that has come up in our relationship before. I lose on two levels, there is a regular team loss ala my Washington Wizards or a college squad and there is a next level loss from my main squad the Philadelphia Eagles. The Mom did acknowledge that she knows the difference between the two but that it is still no fun being on a date to a sporting event and your date doesn’t say anything for the final hour after you leave the game. (Writers Note: I don’t believe that this is how it goes down)
BMWK fam, I’m trying to get better. When my Eagles lose after I get done swinging in the air like Cuba Gooding Jr. in Boyz N Da Hood I come out of the basement and try to pretend like its all good. As long as TheMom doesn’t address me with too many questions including the clincher of who won we’re all good. Even if she does I answer but please just don’t ask me a bunch of questions like what happened.
BMWK family how do you handle it? How does your spouse handle a team loss? Let a brother know!
