I have heard many times that singles need to be confident, have some level of success, be emotionally stable, etc. and they will attract Mr. Right or Mrs. Right. I definitely agree with those assessments, but one thing I’ve observed more than a few times is when someone demonstrates a passion for life or is living out their purpose, Mr. Right or Mrs. Right many times will appear.
Here are some of the ways in which singles have met their significant others who became life-long partners.
Volunteering
Whether it’s bringing clean water into a poverty-stricken neighborhood across the world or volunteering for a local soup kitchen, volunteering to bring a better quality of life or to minimize suffering brings compassionate, purpose-filled people together. As you sign up for Habitat for Humanity efforts or even corporate-sponsored events, take a look around and be approachable and friendly. You never know who you might meet!
Entrepreneur Endeavors
Are you an entrepreneur, or an aspiring entrepreneur? Have you considered joining associations or social media groups associated with your passions? Entrepreneurs have a unique perspective on life that many non-entrepreneurs may admire but may not feel comfortable handling on a daily basis. So being around like-minded individuals who are willing to take risks for some freedoms is a great way to make new friends….who may become more than friends in the future! Entrepreneur events/meetups, panel discussion events, etc. are great ways to get out and meet others with similar desires and dreams.
Fun Hangouts
Do you love roller skating? Bowling? Theme parks? Pottery classes? Dance classes? Game nights? Gun ranges? We have so many opportunities to connect with others while having fun! Ladies, I would challenge you to try some of these fun activities alone and see what happens!
DIY Classes
You’ve decided to sand down your dresser and change the color/stain. Or, you plan on re-upholstering your favorite chair. You might need classes to ensure that your project turns out just right. Yes, you can watch DIY TV – or you can decide to attend DIY classes at your nearest craft store or home repair store instead. Meet like-minded people who want to use their creativity to enhance their surroundings. You may meet your Mr. or Mrs. Right at the next class!
Gourmet/High-end Grocery Stores
Are you planning to prepare the most exotic meal you can find in your recipe stash? Or are you particular about what ingredients are in your foods? Well when it’s time to grocery shop, take a good look around. More men are becoming experts in the kitchen, so ladies don’t rule out the male shopper comparing prices in the olive oils section!
Conferences, Author and Poetry Events
Conferences, book seller events and poetry events are also great ways to meet other singles who are passionate about what you love. As you make it a habit to show up at these events, the “regulars” will probably feel more comfortable to include you in their hangouts before, after or in-between events. Showcase your talent too! Your visibility increases the chances of being seen by someone who may become Mr. or Mrs. Right!
