Do you have the date night blues?
They can look a little something like this:
- You can’t remember the last time you and your husband went out on a date alone.
- The last time you went out, it was to see a movie and eat at the same restaurant down the street. Again.
- Whenever you do have some free time, you go around in circles trying to decide what to do.
- You go out from time to time, but you miss the “climate of fun” you used to enjoy together before bills, kids, and everything else took over your schedule.
Doesn’t sound like much fun, does it?
My husband and I were suffering from the date night blues and decided to do something about it.
We sat down and had a good talk about what changes we can make to spruce up that area of our marriage. We’d grown tired of doing the same old, same old and didn’t want our date nights to be an afterthought anymore.
What came out of that discussion was the word “intentional.” We have to be more intentional about spending time together. A happy marriage, which includes an active dating life won’t happen on its own. Things are better for everyone when you spend quality time together on a regular basis.
And for busy couples like us, it takes some planning.
Here’s how you can get more intentional about quality time and get rid of the date night blues!
