9 Signs that Your Marriage Will Stand the Test of Time

All married couples hit rough patches. I think anyone who says otherwise is delusional. If you are happily married, I am sure you have had a few (or many) rough times. If you haven’t, I can only assume that you haven’t been married for long. If you aren’t happily married, it doesn’t mean all hope is lost. It could just mean that you are currently in the midst of your rough patch.

The thing is, a marriage can face all kinds of unexpected turns (sometimes painful), but it doesn’t mean that the marriage won’t last. I actually think a marriage has a better chance of lasting if the couple is able to face the difficult moments head on and figure out a way to push through and come out stronger.

Are you hoping to one day have a perfect union with your spouse? I hope not because that is not going to happen. I’m not trying to bust your bubble—well, maybe I am—but the perfect union does not exist. Now, if you are looking to travel this bumpy road called life with your partner and make this commitment last, I think that sounds a lot more reasonable. Who needs perfection anyway? It can get boring.

Here are a few signs that your marriage has what it takes to stand the test of time.
