A Conductor directs a musical performance by way of visible gestures to unify performers, set the tempo, execute clear preparations and beats, and to listen critically and shape the sound of the ensemble. Why not let God be the conductor of your marriage? If like the performer, you keep your eyes on the Master Conductor and follow His gestures; your marriage can be a beautiful symphony.
What can be gained if you allow God to lead you:
- Direction. Just as the performer has to watch the conductor for signs and signals on how to play his instrument, keep your spiritual eyes on Him so He can direct your way. How do you do this? By reading His word and praying. The Word says in Proverbs 3:5-6, (Amplified Bible) Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Let Him guide you towards your purpose and plan set for you. Don’t stray off the path, keep moving forward.
- Peace. If you keep your spiritual eyes on God at all times, you will have peace in your marriage. The Word says in Isaiah 26:3 (Amplified Bible) 3You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. Isn’t is a great thing to know you will be guarded and in perfect peace as long as you focus on God? Let Him have all you worries you have for your marriage, just look to Him for all your needs.
Keep in mind that you and your spouse still have your free will to enjoy the instruments you play in life, just remember to look to the One that can help make it harmonious.
