All this week we’ll be running classic posts in addition to our regular content to celebrate our one year anniversary on Blackandmarriedwithkids.com! Original post date: Jan. 3, 2008. (TheMom was pregnant when we first started the blog.)
One of the things that attracted me to my wife was her drive and determination. Both were on display last night oddly enough.
Two things led up to last night: 1) Us watching a movie about Jimi Hendrix starring Wood Harris over the weekend 2)After watching most of the football game on Sunday over my brothers house in which the Redskins roasted the Cowboys we started looking for other ways to entertain ourselves and stumbled upon my nephews Guitar Hero Game for PS2. He gave us a brief introduction and we both instantly fell in love with the game which I’d been hearing about from a coworker who said she plays it with her boyfriend on a regular basis. (They both have guitars, how cute
Fast forward to Wed. night and since Sunday we’ve confiscated our sons Guitar Hero (which has been idle in his room for probably the past year) and have been having impromptu jam sessions ever since.
The wife has not been bad but has not been playing exactly how she has wanted to during some of the solo parts of some of the songs. While we were putting the kids to bed I fired up the ole Playstation, strapped on my plastic Gibson and cranked out two or three songs making me feel like the rock star I was destined to be. (They really should have a “Black Guitar Hero” version with Prince, Hendrix, Chuck Berry and once you get to a certain level you should be able to download Chuck Brown ) Anyway around 9ish I handed the guitar over for what I thought would be one or two songs by the wife while I laid down with the baby.
Now like I said before my wife has a drive and determination. So”... I shouldn’t have been the least bit surprised when I awoke last night at 12:30 to find a gyrating pregnant woman prancing back and forth around the bedroom with a plastic guitar atop her 7mos. full belly. I shook my head and went back to bed.
