BMWK Weekend Travel Guide: Outdoor Family Fun!


Spring is officially here and it is time to put those Boy Scout and Girl Scout adventure and survival skills to good use with a little outdoor family fun. The National Park Service wants you to explore, learn, share and give back to America’s 397 national parks during “˜National Park Week 2012.’

The annual celebration of America’s natural treasures begins on Saturday April 21st through Saturday April 28th. Park visitors will be able to enjoy free admission to the 397 parks all week long. During the weeklong celebration visitors will see some of the world’s most spectacular scenery, discover cultural treasures and places where significant moments in history occurred and more, all for FREE!

Celebrating the theme “Picture Yourself in A National Park,” National Park Week will also feature several key events. The key events include: Volunteer Day on April 21st, Earth Day on April 22nd and Junior Ranger Day on April 28th.
