4 Encouraging Scriptures for a Troubled Marriage

Going through marital troubles can be one of the loneliest times of your life. Especially when feel like you can’t turn to your family and friends.  However, no matter what you are going through in your marriage, know that God is on your side.  Even if you are the only one that is currently working on your marriage, don’t be discouraged.  You are not alone. Below are some scriptures that will encourage you and remind you that God is on your side.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

First, read the few scriptures above this verse that explain how the Spirit prays for us when we don’t know what to pray; how all things work together for our good. So when there is trouble in your marriage you have hope. Just keep praying and don’t give up because God is on your side.

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us”. Romans 8:37

Here, the Word talks about how nothing can separate us from God’s love. Since He loves us, He cares about what is going on in our lives, including our marriage. You will do more than conquer the problem in your marriage and be victorious because God is on your side.

“But Jesus looked at them and said,“With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””Matthew 19:26

A successful marriage is possible…reconciliation with your spouse is possible. A stronger, healthier marriage is possible. Even though this passage refers to how one enters Heaven, He still said that with God all things are possible. This means a happy marriage is possible because God is on your side.

“My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:2

Yes! You have help for your struggles. Be wise in where you seek help from and who you ask for help. I know you’ve heard it before, but I cannot stress enough that not everyone wants your marriage to succeed. The Word says your help comes from the Lord, not friends, family, horoscopes, etc. I’m not saying that friends and family cannot offer assistance and support, I’m saying that if their advice is not Word-based but world-based, be careful. Your help comes from above because God is on your side.

I pray that these scriptures help you and your spouse recover from whatever ails your relationship. I encourage you to read them daily and you will see your faith increasing. Do your part in correcting any behavior or compromising to make your marriage work. Don’t worry if it seems that nothing is happening because change takes time. Don’t give up because God is on your side.
