To know Jesus as their Savior
Lord I pray my son has a personal relationship with you at a young age so he may live according to your plan for his life. Knowing that you are his Savior, Provider and Protector.
Thank you for the role you allow me to fill in his life but let his dependence be cultivated in you and not in me. Create in my son a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him. (Psalm 51:10; Rom 10:9-10)
To know their purpose
Lord from the days of her youth, reveal to my daughter her purpose, so she may live her days fulfilling the plan you created for her life. Teach her to hear your voice, so when you speak, she is sure to listen. A stranger’s voice she will not follow because she is grounded in you. (Jer 29:11; John 10:5)
For health and prosperity
Father, I pray for my son. I desire what you desire for him – that he be prosperous in every area of his life – spirit, soul, and body. That the blessing of Abraham would prevail in his life.
I will study the blessings given to Abraham and the promises you have for my boy, so that I may teach him of the good and precious gifts you have in store for him. (3John 1:2, Gal 3:14, Num 23:14)
For their friends
Lord surround my daughter with friends of like precious faith that they may encourage one another to live according to your will. I pray my daughter would not be unequally yoked in intimate relationships. May her light shine as a role model as young Daniel did – not being enticed by the things around him. (2Corin 6:14; Dan 1:1-9)
Their future mate
Father if my son is to marry, I desire that he marry the person you deem well suited for him. When you present this person to my son, allow him to recognize that this love is from you.
Protect his heart from hurt and suffering and fill his heart with the love of the Lord. May he see the glory of God revealed in his Proverbs 31 woman. May he love her as Christ loved the church. (Prov 31, Eph 5:25)
