Hospital Helps Dying Patient Say ‘I do’

A 52 year old woman with a deadly leukemia prognosis had one of her wishes come true most recently thanks to staff at Kentucky’s University Hospital. According to Nurse Melissa Pritchett, “One of her wishes was to get married before her time was up.” The hospital put together a wedding ceremony so that Evonne Lee and her partner of eight years Don Tyler could exchange nuptials. According to Tyler, he and Lee had decided they were “in it for life” when they first got together.

“I know I don’t have long to live,” says Lee. “But the time I have, I will still enjoy.”
