I am Lamar Tyler co-founder of BMWK and Tyler New Media. My wife Ronnie and I are looking for an assistant editor to become a key piece of the internal team in our Snellville, GA office. Basically you’ll be the person we go to, to get things done for our award-winning website BlackandMarriedWithKids.com!

In this position you’ll be responsible for posting and updating content on BlackandMarriedWithKids.com, including but not limited to text stories, photos, links and related information, slideshows and videos.
You’ll also be responsible for posting and engaging with readers on BMWK’s social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. You’ll monitor web and social media sites for quality control purposes, and produce special web coverage content during major news, entertainment and editorial events.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to produce engaging content for social media users, handle multiple demands and completing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment, and with excellent communication skills. Two to three years of experience working for an online content based organization, and one to two years of experience posting content to social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter is preferred.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Perform editorial duties for a team of freelance writers
• Post stories and extra content packages daily
• Work to develop new website features
• Monitor the Internet for media trends
• Market content online and via social media platforms
MUST HAVE:
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Experience producing high-volumes of online content
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest
• Strong knowledge of WordPress
• Understanding of web standards design, usability and user on-line behavior
STRONGLY PREFER:
• Experience with photo editing software such as PhotoShop, Canva, or PicMonkey
• Experience with online content marketing
