10 Super Simple Ways to End Your Dating Slump

[tps_header]We all have hit a dating slump at one time or another. Where we are dateless for a long period of time or our dates seem to be a continuation of a very bad dream. Instead of moping around and feeling sorry for yourself, choose one of the following 10 ways to get back out there, shake things up and have some fun.[/tps_header]

1. Change your hangout spot
Tour your city and discover new hang outs. With new hangouts come new people.

2. Go solo
It’s hard to approach someone when they are in a group. Choose to go solo and see what you encounter.

3. Date outside of your “type”
Don’t lower your standards but date a different “type” of person. You might discover you have a new type.

4. Expand the dating pool
Become a tourist and go on day trips or weekend getaways within your state or region. You never know who you might meet. And a long-distance relationship isn’t too bad if the person lives in a neighboring state.

5. Be open to your options
Allow your friends, family and even co-workers to set you up on a date. These are the people who know you best. What do you have to lose? They might surprise you.

6. Think out the box for dates
Change your first date options and get creative. Instead of dinner and a movie, find activities which will allow each of you to loosen up and enjoy yourselves such as a theme park, cooking class or indoor skydiving. Choose activities that will allow the two of you to really get to know each other, while allowing your individual personalities to shine through.

7. Do a date evaluation
Remember you are a part of the reason the dates weren’t successful. Evaluate your actions as well as your dates and determine ways the date could have been better. If need be, implement applicable changes.

8. Start a new hobby
Or focus on the hobby you already have. Start attending events focused around your hobby. In doing so, you will begin to meet more like-minded people. You never know you might meet your next date or someone might have a friend for you to meet.

9. Self check
Make sure that your dating slump isn’t a part of a bigger picture, e.g. challenges at work, financial problems, life challenges, etc. Sometimes we subconsciously create problems in other areas to avoid dealing with the bigger issue at hand.

10.  Get out and live your life
Don’t wait around to meet Mr. or Ms. Right. Start enjoying your life. While you are out having fun, you might meet someone new.

Usually when people find themselves in a dating slump the first inclination is to hide. But instead of hiding, face your slump head on by evaluating changes or new things you can do to meet a wider variety of people and expand your options.

Be sure that you take care of and focus on the most important relationship in your life, the one with yourself. Don’t be so consumed with ending your dating slump that you neglect to focus on living and enjoying your life.
