Finally, the “New Nude” Lingerie Line for Black Women of All Shades

When it comes to a woman’s private arsenal of unmentionables and shape shifting undergarments, the nude bra has to be the number one asset. A good nude bra, especially the strapless variety, is a must have for evening gowns, summer sun dresses, white silk and any moment you want to show a little skin. But if you are a black woman like me, when you shop for nude under things you settle for a beige-y pinkish color that you pray will look ok under your clothing. Finding a nude that is actually our nude is an ever present struggle, but come October women of any color can purchase underwear matching their skin tone and we are not talking plain jane undies so get excited.

“Despite the reality that women of colour have the same needs as all women when it comes to lingerie and hosiery (and spend the same of their hard-earned money), the industry simply doesn’t cater to us.  So, I thought, it’s time to rethink the definition of nude.  Thus, Nubian Skin was born,” declares new lingerie company Nubian Skin on their website, which is poised to become THE place for women of color looking for their nude.

The beautifully designed lingerie will be available online in wonderfully appropriate shades like Cinnamon and Berry – as in the darker the berry the sweeter, well you know. Though only these two colors have been profiled on the company’s blog, a full range of colors and sizes will be available.

The Nubian Skin team even make choosing your color easy by matching their tones to that of popular foundation shades from companies like NARS, Iman, and MAC – so brilliant.
