Starring Outkast’s André Benjamin (aka André 3000), the biopic about the life of the legendary Jimi Hendrix hit theaters later this year, and the official trailer has finally been released.
The film, Jimi: All Is By My Side, follows the career moves made by Hendrix that take him from New York City to London, where he records his debut album, Are You Experienced.
The film is written and directed by John Ridley, the Academy Award-winning writer of 12 Years a Slave. Word is that Ridley has has nothing but great things to say about Bejamin’s performance, saying that the actor even learned how to play the guitar with his left hand, like Hendrix did.
JImi: All Is By My Side hits theaters on September 26, 2014.
