Video: Terry Crews’ View on Fatherhood – Not Well Received

I love Terry Crews. He’s one of the busiest men in Hollywood right now and usually when he speaks his words are motivating someone. He holds such strong views on family, marriage and fatherhood. Recently, during a visit on The View he was basically blasted because of his ideas regarding fatherhood. His opinion might not be very popular for single moms, but I happen to agree with a lot of what he shared.  I was raised by a single mom and while she was able to instill in me most of what Terry mentioned in the video, there were still some things I also would have benefited from receiving from my father on a daily basis. I think it’s difficult to hear our children may be lacking or missing out on something when we’re doing the absolute best we can as parents, especially for those who are single parents. Terry’s point may have been overlooked for that very reason. Parenting is designed as a two-person job for a reason. Children need both views for guidance and navigation through life’s ups and downs.

Parenting is a challenge period. It’s twice the challenge when you’re raising a child alone. But to Terry’s point, there should be someone in that child’s life who fills the void of the missing parent.

BMWK, would love to hear your thoughts. Do you agree with Terry’s stance on fatherhood?
