Some of us are guilty of an innocent lie or two. One that ladies are notorious for and will often admit to is the “it was on sale” lie when coming home with a shopping bag of freshly purchased items in tow. But there are some lies that can really cost you especially when it comes to your dating life. A recent article by Essence’s Kevin Carr reveals 10 things women should never lie about. Here are 3:
1. Your Age – While some still find it taboo to ask a women her age, it is believed that this is a fair question when it comes to dating. Reveal your age to him or risk appearing insecure. On the bright side, if he isn’t into you after learning your age at least you found out early.
2. Your Culinary Talents – If you can’t cook or don’t like to cook, be honest. A home cooked meal doesn’t have to be the only thing you have to offer a man. “Tell the truth and give him the chance to impress you with his skills. If you’re both clueless, you can always order take-out,” says Carr.
3. Your Thoughts on Marriage – Oftentimes women are afraid to bring up marriage out of the belief that it will scare men off. According to Carr that is not the case. If he’s right for you then he “will want to know where you stand — especially if he’s on a different path.” You can let him know of your future desires when it comes to a relationship “without putting too much pressure on the present situation.”
