We’re back with another week of our Disney Living Challenge. If you take your kids out for Halloween you want it to be a safe and fun time right? Well so do we. We want the kids to have pure enjoyment, a load of fun canvasing the neighborhood and we want them to be worn out and ready for bed. If you think that I’m joking really I’m not.
The kiddies have already attended a Fall Festival over the weekend and today the enjoyed treats and parties at school. Tonight is the main event though. We’ll be taking a brisk walk through the neighborhood with our little cuties in tow looking for the good stuff. The kids are already dialed up to 100 and have been extremely excited for days so the countdown is on.
We wanted to let you know that if you participate in Halloween it doesn’t have to be overwhelming or intimating. Check out these tips to help you get through the night:
- We look through and sort all of the candy that comes into the house before anyone eats anything.
- If it isn’t packaged right we toss it. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
- Even after sorting we limit how much the kids can have. We let them select one or two of their favorite candies each day after they finish dinner.
- If you don’t want to spend a lot for a costume get creative with what you have around the house. I remember my mother made me a robot costume out of old boxes and aluminum foil. Did I look like a robot? Probably not but you get the point LOL.
- After the night is over put those costumes up for later use. We pass ours down from kid to kid. During the year they also use pieces for school events like crazy hat day etc…
