We’ve reached the end of this season of It’s Not You, It’s Men. And I must say, hosts “Rev. Run” Simmons and Tyrese Gibson ended the season with a bang. The men were joined by comedians Loni Love, JB Smoove and Jessimae Peluso as well as author and relationship expert Tracy McMillan to discuss: Why Women are Still Single.
The panel weighed in on the top eight reasons why women are still single, and here they are:
Independent Woman
It’s great a woman is independent, but when she comes home a man wants to see and experience her femininity. According to the panel, some women don’t know how to leave their work persona at work and become the lady at home.
Eggs in One Basket
When you are single, you should date more than one person—not have sex with multiple people, but date multiple people. Dating multiple people allows you to determine what you like and don’t like in a potential mate. Be honest and let the individuals you are dating know you are dating other men.
It’s simple math. The more candidates you field at the same time will better your chances of finding the right “hire.”
Low Inventory
Lack of good men. Loni Love playfully pointed out she feels most good men are either, married, in jail, gay or are too picky. Broaden your horizons to expand your dating pool.
Self-Awareness
Take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself the hard questions. Acknowledge your issues and deal with them prior to entering a relationship.
Self Honesty
Love yourself enough to require the relationships you desire. Stop agreeing to a casual relationship when you know you really want a committed one (you’re only wasting your time). Be willing to walk away from a relationship when it isn’t meeting your needs.
Past Hurts
Make sure you are healed from past relationships prior to entering into a new one. If not, you might go into the new relationship with a negative attitude and defensiveness from previous relationships.
Too Hard to Get
Pride and ego will kill a relationship every time. When you see a man who is interested in you, give him an indication you are interested too. Men need a little motivation to continue in their pursuit.
Casual Sex
Casual sex is the main reason women are single (according to the cast). Reason being, casual sex doesn’t stay casual for very long. Eventually you are disappointed because it didn’t blossom into the relationship you desire. You can’t use sex to make someone your man.
Don’t allow your relationship status to determine who you are or define your happiness. When you find contentment within, you are less likely to be thirsty and more likely to appeal to the confident man you desire.
