The Five G’s Every Marriage Should Have

Whenever I hear a sermon, a word or a song on my favorite gospel station, I try to think about how I can use those words to honor my husband. When my Pastor speaks about developing a better relationship with God, I always try to also understand ways that I can develop a better relationship with my husband. And boy has this site given me so much insight, laughter and confirmations for my own marriage!

A while back, I remember my Pastor talking about the importance fo finding joy in your life and how to find joy. I remember him saying, “Joy is a protest. It is a stance that says I refuse to let the darkness of evil conquer the light of Christ in my heart”. This is so powerful because even as I’ve gotten older, I’ve had to let some relationships go because they were threatening to “steal my joy”. It’s about taking a stance and choosing to be unapologetic about distancing yourself from the evil and negativity that surrounds us day in and day out. But doesn’t the same hold true for marriage? Don’t we have to make a decision to take a stance that says we refuse to let the darkness of evil conquer the light of joy we have in our marriage?

Here are 5 G’s that every marriage needs in order to find (and keep) joy.  Check them out and then tell us what virtues are you most grateful for in your spouse, and what ways do you let them know?
