It’s not the Jetsons yet, but we’re getting close. Chevrolet has announced that they will become the first automotive company to bring 4G LTE Wi-Fi into their cars, trucks and crossover vehicles.
If you’re a techie or Internet junkie like me and my family, then you’re literally foaming at the mouth and thinking of all of the ways that you can use this technology. Or, you may even be thinking of the many times that you thought that having your phone with you would do the trick, but it just didn’t.
The built-in OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot will provide a stronger signal with a fast and reliable connection to alleviate the mobile device headaches you’ve been battling.
After initial setup, you’ll be ready to connect up to 7 mobile devices at any time (while parked of course because we don’t want you to be distracted while driving).
Here are just a few ways that I can think of us using this additional connectivity:
Date Night Assistance: Helping with locating restaurants, theaters, activities and reviews for our date nights.
Kiddie Games: Our middle daughter is a tablet junkie and always in search of WiFi. I could only imagine her joy of being able to play Hay Day in the car LOL.
Getting Work Done: Since we’re full-time entrepreneurs, there are often times when we need to check emails, download documents, update BMWK or do a host of other office functions from the road. In the past this was like rolling dice and hoping that you wouldn’t crap out with spotty cell phone reception. Now I could just imagine us connecting to the 4G LTE Wi-Fi to get work done and then be done with the work so we could enjoy the rest of our trip.
No More Movie Rentals: Currently when we take regular road trips we rent movies for the kids to watch. With 4G LTE Wi-Fi I can just stream movies over the Internet. This would give the kids an unlimited library and keep me from having to find kiosks in random cities to return movies to.
These are just a few of the ways I think we could take advantage of having the built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi in our car. What about you?
Chevrolet is merging the physical freedom of the car with the virtual freedom of Wi-Fi to become the first and only car company to bring built in 4G LTE Wi-Fi to the largest vehicle line-up. Visit https://s.chevy.com/TBX to learn more.
