I hope that you’ve been enjoying and following along each week with our Disney Living Challenges. We’ve been working to get the kiddies healthy and engaged in better lifestyles but you know what? This week we’re going to let them indulge, just this once! Now we’re not going overboard and personally we think it’s find for the kids to have a sweet treat every now and then as long as it’s in moderation.

You can really turn the the opportunity to have treats into a family event. Our young girls love to bake so from time to time Ronnie will let them join in on the fun of creating our favorite baked dishes. Cakes, cupcakes and cookies with the girls are favorites and they do a great job too.

Here are a few tips when it comes to helping your kids to select good treats:

• Treats in moderation are a great way to celebrate and bring smiles to the faces in your family
• Celebrate milestones by letting the kids deviate from their regular options and provide a special treat
• Kids love to use their imagination, get your kids involved with making delicious treats so they feel accomplished
• Monitor how much and how often your children are having treats so they don’t overdo it
• If buying from the store let them get involved in the decision making process on what to buy
• Try putting their treats into snack\sandwich bags on road trips (for some reason our kids love this)
