How do you create healthy lifestyle habits in your children? Well, one way is by starting them off early and that’s what we’re doing here at BlackandMarriedWithKids.com. We’ve partnered with Disney to perform a series of challenges with you our readers in hopes that we’ll get our kids inspired by making their daily health routines fun. Each week we’re here with a challenge that will hopefully encourage you to do just that.
Sniffles and sneezing are coming into full effect as cold and flu season approaches. As a parent you are keenly aware of the affect that your child having the flu can have. You’re in a constant battle to keep their temperature down, you’re worried out of your mind, they can’t attend school for a few days and you can’t go to work!
If you’ve been in that situation before then you know how important it is to keep the kids ready to battle against sickness. We try to make sure the kids eat healthy, get the vitamins that their bodies need and anything else we can do but sometimes we still can’t get around it. When our kids do get sick here are a few things we do:
- We try our best to keep them comfortable in their room. Plenty of pillows and a fresh pair of PJs
- We make sure they use tissue when they sneeze (easier said than done)
- We remind them to wash their hands regularly
- We do our best to make them feel loved and that they are getting special attention (that always makes them feel better)
- We keep the other kids from getting too close so they don’t get sick too
BMWK family we want to know what do you do when your child is sick? How does it make you feel to see them under the weather? Do you have any tips to add to our list?

I didn’t know Method had partnered with Disney. Good move.
