Many married couples and maybe some singles want to know how to have a successful marriage.

Joshua 1:8 says: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

So how can you have a successful marriage? Glad you asked.

Know What is a Successful Marriage

First, you need to know what a successful marriage is because success means different things to different people. One may feel a successful marriage is determined by the length of the marriage, another may feel it is determined by how wealthy the couple is, while another may feel a successful marriage is determined by how well the couple gets along.

Read the Bible

Second, read the Bible, it tells you everything you need to know about having a successful marriage. Ask for a clearer understanding of what you read and you will begin to learn what you need to do to have what you want in marriage.

Apply What You’ve Learned

Third, take what you read and apply it to your life and your marriage. Having a successful marriage takes work along with the Word you read regarding your marriage. Be proactive and enjoy what you learn with your spouse.

Speak the Word

Lastly, speak the Word over your marriage. What you read in the Word should be spoken. Keep reading it and you will find that you will start to speak scriptures from memory because you have placed it in your heart. Once you do all these things, the Word says not only will have you have success, but good success! Doesn’t that sound good to you? Whatever the meaning of success a person has, the way to achieve it in marriage is through the Word.
