How can we get our kids to be more active? Have you ever asked yourself this question because we have? Today’s children are notorious for gaming, relaxing (a bit too much lol) and being addicted to technology. What today’s kids are not known for is going outside to play, being healthy, and being active. But you can change that!
Our family moved from the DC Area to Atlanta four years ago and one of the first things that I noticed was tennis. Tennis is everywhere in Georgia. I mean, we had tennis in the DC area but the courts were empty for the most part. But in Georgia, it’s an entirely different flow.
Just last night, as we dropped our daughter off at a local park for cheer practice, we saw basketball courts that were summertime packed and right across from them were the tennis courts with just as many players. Most of the neighborhoods even have their own competitive teams that play other neighborhoods. Like I said before, Tennis is real down here.
So with the boom in tennis, I’ve been thinking of ways we can get our girls interested in Tennis. Best-case scenario we can spark a lifelong love and appreciation of the sport as they grow into the next Venus or Serena. Worst-case scenario, they get great exercise, they get out of the house, and off the tablets.
If you’re interested in getting your kids interested in Tennis and they enjoy watching the stars like Venus, Serena, Federer, Nadal or Sharapova, then take a trip to this year’s US Open Tennis Championships. To make it easier for you, we’re highlighting four must-see events that you and your kids will love during your trip there.
