It doesn’t seem like racial comments, actions or blame will stop anytime soon. If you happened to watch the news, be on social media or even see CNN this weekend – you could not have missed the one statement by TNT Academy of Stone Mountain Director, Nancy Gordeuk, that abruptly ended a high school graduation. Gordeuk, was recorded saying, “Look whose leaving! All the black people!”

Here’s a longer video that shows more of the principals attitude and not just “black people” walking out of the graduation (before the statement was made).

Here’s a Little Background:
The graduation ceremony was actually over and the students had already received their diplomas. The processional music was about to start and the graduates were ready to start marching. She stopped the music and asked everyone to remain seated because she forgot the announce the Valedictorian, in addition to letting him say his speech.
She then says a man with an iPad started to film the Valedictorian, so she got security to remove him. From other accounts, people said the gentleman wasn’t a distraction until she made his presence one. Unfortunately, her behavior and tone the entire graduation made the audience feel tense and they didn’t know what to expect next.
She was quoted saying: “If you have babies, you either need to tape their mouths shut or get them out of here. This is no place for babies. Get them out of here.” by Suzette Walden Cole who traveled from Colorado to see her nephew graduate.
She even insulted certain students (of color) as she handed them their diplomas, “he couldn’t make it in public school.”
CNN reports, The TNT Academy website describes the school as a college preparatory program that provides credits for a high school diploma through independent study and teacher-assisted instruction. Families were on edge as they waited to hear what slick insults she would say next about their graduating senior.
An Apology
People from all over are of course calling for Gordeuk to be fired but of course, it’s hard to fire the person who started the institution. With all the media backlash, she has issued a public apology, but honestly you must question the sincerity.
