You literally have to be someone who does not have cable or the internet to not know what’s going on with America’s Favorite TV Dad. Sexual allegations have emerged against Bill Cosby and now everyone is questioning could this really be true.
More women are surfacing daily and sharing their experiences with Bill Cosby. Although he hasn’t been charged with anything, networks & corporations are now distancing themselves from him.
Cosby had a show in development with NBC, which has now been cancelled. TV Land originally had ‘The Cosby Show’ in its rotation for the Thanksgiving break, but has also cancelled the show indefinitely. Netflix has joined NBC and TV Land, by deciding not to air the scheduled comedy special on 11/28, Bill Cosby at 77.
Here are a few questions on everyone’s mind:
- What will become of Bill Cosby?
- What will his legacy be now?
- Will he ever admit to any wrong doing? Is it their word against his?
- Do you feel differently about watching The Cosby Show & Different World now?
- Do you really think TVLand should have taken his show off the air?
- Indefinitely?
- Can and will he be prosecuted? Has too much time gone by?
- How does his wife feel?
- Will she ever speak publicly about it?
When these allegations first surfaced, I tried not to listen. Now the sound is too loud to ignore. I find myself watching his interviews and paying attention to his body language. I even wonder why he doesn’t just say, “I didn’t do those things.”
The Cosby Show and A Different World were very instrumental in my life. They were the primary reason I went to college and even gave me a glimpse of what a household with a happy mother & father (basically marriage) actually looks like. I wanted those things. Now that I’m older, I can go back to some of those episodes and now relate as a parent, when before I related as the child.
I hope in the coming days, Bill Cosby will address these allegations. I think his celebrity is too big to stay silent or to think we will eventually forget about it once it’s out of the media.
BMWK, Will these allegations keep you from watching The Cosby Show or A Different World?

Honestly, I have not watched the Cosby Show since they aired for the first time. Will the current allegations change my view of him? Yes!! If these allegations are in fact true, then my view of his character as history’s favored upstanding TV dad has forever demolished. He is now considered a rapest. That alone makes me look at him under a different light.

Yes, I will watch his shows with no problem. It is a sad day where a man is guilty until proven innocent. Most people have taken the word of these women that are making the accusations on him without knowing who they truly are or their type of character. Just because a woman or a few women says a man did something people look at it as being true when a lot of them lie. Many cases are being overturned in this era because of the many women who lied on a man and sent him to jail for many years of his life and nothing happened to the accuser. People have been trying to bring down Mr. Cosby for decades and have been unsuccessful at it due to insufficient evidence which means he is innocent. Society has been locking up black men at an alarming rate for little things for decades. Do you really think a man of this magnitude would get away with sexual assault or rape involving several women? At the end of the day, a good man’s reputation will take a big hit based on a bunch of allegations. These accusers didn’t come forth or have any evidence back then and they still don’t have any evidence today! Give me evidence or just stop the nonsense.

Even if Bill Cosby is found guilty of these allegations I would most likely still watch episodes of the Cosby Show simply because of what it represented to African-American families and history. In addition, if we were to start boycotting every show based on the immoral and/or unethical past behaviors of its actors, we would probably have to discard our television sets.
