After church is over and everyone is full from the ham, turkey or bbq, it’s usually the adults’ responsibility to hide eggs, real and plastic, for the kids. But what if your family doesn’t have a lot of small kids or what if the adults want to have some fun? Here are some things the adults can do to enjoy Easter.
- If you have a lot of kids in the family, make the hunt a family affair. Each family can work as a team to find eggs. To make it more interesting, set a timer so the family with the most eggs when time is up wins. Prizes can be a certificate, small trinkets or money.
- Have an adult only Easter egg hunt. Have everyone donate a set dollar amount and place it in plastic eggs. Break it down to $1, $5 and increase it to whatever the family is comfortable with like an egg with $20 inside. If you’re able hide $100. Then have the teens or someone not participating hide the eggs for the adults to find.
- Play the Chinese Christmas game on Easter. Set a dollar amount and all participants bring a wrapped gift. You can have the theme be Easter related items, small electronics or all gift cards. Once everyone draws a number, the first person unwraps a gift to display. Then the second person can either steal the first person’s gift or select one to unwrap. The gift can only be stolen twice and the third person who steals gets to keep it.
If your family does not have any kids or kids that are too young to participate in activities, all of the above games will be sure to bring the family together and entertain the adults. Also having a little wine or mixed drinks will surely add to the fun!
