This past weekend, I spent the entire weekend with my husband, kid-free (a very rare opportunity). After we wrapped up Thanksgiving dinner at my sister’s house, we said goodnight to the kiddos while they stayed for a sleepover. I was already excited because he had told me he would be off from Friday to Sunday. But then he surprised me on Thanksgiving Day by telling me he had taken that night off too (can’t remember the last Thanksgiving he didn’t have to work). I wanted to cry because I was so excited. For the first time in a long time, we weren’t going to have to rush through meals and visiting our families.
But even better, we were able to just reconnect and spend some long, overdue quality time together. We had planned on venturing out and doing a bunch of activities. But it was nice to just enjoy the peace and quiet, and reflect on the blessing of his love for me. This past weekend made me think about all the characteristics I love about my husband, and all of the things that any woman or wife should be blessed with in her current or future husband.

This was such a humbling read for myself. The man that God has provided me with is all of these things and soo much more and I always show appreciation to him for these things. But sometimes we can forget exactly what our spouse is to us and what they mean to us in our lives and this was a beautiful reminder that I DO have a GREAT man of God!! Thank you for the reminder!

I agree Ti, thanks for sharing! It’s so easy to get caught up and even take them for granted at times. So I really try to be conscious of that myself and just continue to thank God for blessing me with such an amazing hubby! Continued blessings to you and your husband 🙂
