Ruby Bridges visited the White House last week to see how a painting commemorating her personal and historic milestone looks hanging on the wall outside of the Oval Office. Bridges was the first Black child to attend an all-white school when she integrated William Franz School on November 14, 1960.
“To be standing shoulder to shoulder with history, and viewing history – it’s just a once in a lifetime,” Ms. Bridges said.

Such a profound moment…… It’s so good to be living during this time of history, we still have some ways to go but it’s a step in the right direction.
