How far are you and your family willing to go in order to save money? Would you use reusable paper cloths instead of standard toilet paper? This family says that they save 20 bucks per month, over $200 per year by using this process.
Would you go that far? What changes have you made in your household to cut down on expenses?

Ok, this is hilarious. Not going to do it anytime soon, but people should start thinking this way…atleast about other stuff…maybe not toilet paper.

I actually did this for a while. I cloth diapered my daughter when she was a baby and I used cloth wipes for her as well. I would keep her wipes moist in a mixture of water and a dab of baby wash. For a while as an experiment, I used her wipes when I went to the bathroom and tossed them with her dirty diapers to be washed later. It wasn’t that bad, and interestingly a nice change. It was motivated more by a desire to be greener than to save money, but it certainly achieves both goals.

If it works for their family, then I’m not going to knock it. But I hope that they have regular toilet paper for guests.

I was going to mention the similarity to cloth diapering as well. I used cloth diapers as a baby because I was allergic to disposables. If I do have a child, I plan to use cloth for him as well for environmental purposes. At least at home. While we are out in public or visiting, I will use disposables (at least as long as he doesn’t have the same allergy that I did).
