The recordings were released after Trayvon’s family spent two hours with city officials, listening to the calls that documented the 17-year-old’s last moments alive.
“What you hear on that tape is shocking. It’s riveting,” Benjamin Crump, an attorney for Trayvon’s family, said after the group emerged from their meeting with officials late Friday.
Police had previously refused to release the calls. Zimmerman, a 28-year-old neighborhood crime watch volunteer, has not been arrested and is not charged with a crime. He claimed the Feb. 26 shooting was in self defense.
In one of the eight calls, screaming can be heard in the background as a woman tries to get help. That call is punctuated by two gunshots.
Why is this man still walking the streets? BMWK family what are your thoughts on the Trayvon Martin case? Please do what you can to make sure this case doesn’t just go away. Zimmerman hunted down this 17 year old boy and killed him. This easily could have been our family member or yours. Demand justice!
This recording is chilling…I clearly heard someone saying “Help” and I heard the gunshots. That does NOT sound good. Even more reason why we need ANSWERS.
This recording breaks my heart. As the mother of a young boy growing into a young black man I find this to be chilling. My prayers and my love go out to this family. I pray for their strength!

All the answers are here in the recording. He was screaming for help, someone could’ve came out, and witnessed, and there were gunshots fired to this young man. Bottom line!
How can you tell which one was screaming for help? I think the recording is jarring but not all that conclusive.

I am not black but am outraged at the handling of this case by the police department. The neighborhood watch individual had no right to shot this child who was minding his own business. I see this as outright bigotry and not racial profiling. Did the child have a gun? No! Was the shooter told by the police department to stay in the car – yes! Why did he choose to go after the kid? He wanted to make himself important. Well he should be important in jail because nothing they do to him will bring back a life taken too early and for nothing. Those parents need closure and one of the steps to that closure is the arrest and CONVICTION of the perpetrator. It is time to stop the madness.

It doesn’t matter if he is black or white, he was a child yelling for help! That dispatch person is unbelievable, she has no compassion at all, or interest what so ever like the woman calling is interuptting her lunch break. Desparate cryes for help and nobody even screams out anything to help this child, breaks my heart. The police would of probley killed him too or helped Zimmerman do the job. With all the police shootings by police departments of youth of color, makes me wonder what would of been a more human killing, by the cops or Zimmerman?
I think that young man getting killed by some psyco overzealous idot is so tragic. Poor baby, just a baby, he doesn’t even look 14. Zimmerman looks like a crack head and at 250 plus, had one to many whoppers, man 120 pound boy verses a 250 plus psyco, man that’s wrong, you know that grown man probley hit his nose on a tree and the back of his head to make it look like the young man attacked him, typical move of race haters.
The idot probley hit his nose on his truck getting out or with his cell phone, when the police told him to not I repeat not pursue this young man, it shows hes and idot,and surely wasn’t affraid of this young boy. I would bet money this punk wouldn’t a went after a grown man like that, they only go after children and women or girls, bet this fool would have raped someone if it was a female, for all we know he was trying to rape this young man, the guy was clearly sick.
