Last week we were featured during the news portion of the Russ Parr Show the day after Obama gave his historical speech by DC’s Ms. Community – Sheila Stewart. It ran a few times thoughout that morning. Check out the audio here:

I first heard of this awesome site on 93.9 WKYS and now I try to hit your site everyday. I really believe that you are on to something here. A well respected friend shared with me that we are in a season for Black Men to rise and achieve the level of success hoped, for many generations. He said that Black Men are going to reach a level of financial success that we have never seen before. He went on to say that these same Black Man would lead and grow not only the country but the Black Family because just as the Black Man rises so does his spouse and child. Then I heard you on the radio, I checked out your site, and realized that this very site could be one of the resources that will lend to this reality. This is a time when every Black Man and Woman should lean on the successes of the Obamas and push harder than ever before to reach our goals. Our race, the entire nation, and the world will benefit from these achievements. There was a reason that you and your wife were mentioned in the same sentence with the Obamas and heard all across the nation. I have watched this site get better everyday since your airing and this is only the beginning for us all.
Stay Black and I will see you over the top.

AL….I couldn’t have said any better. I too heard about this site on the radio Friday and I have been checking it out everyday, since then. I also shared it with others. I have to say I am moved by the Obama family, it is very inspiring to watch them as a family, without words you can see the love they have for each other, it really moves me. Thank you BMWK.

I am so proud of you guys. With all of the negative media on the black community, it is so refreshing to see sites like this and to know people like you. God Bless you guys in all that you do. Keep it moving forward so that others will catch the wave.

Al- thank you for the powerful words. Whenever we feel like it’s a struggle to keep the site going (2 full time jobs and 4 kids) words like that are what make us push through.
August- thank you also and glad that you’re enjoying the site and just as important that you’re sharing it with others.
Mrs. D – longtime readers like you are very special to me and TheMom and when we blow this site up we’ll know it was because of those who took the time in the beginning to read and comment and become a part of our BMWK family!

I am glad I got to finally listen to that. Thanks for posting it. As a biracial woman, mother and wife, Michelle Obama represnts not only woman but black , and married with children woman well. Ppl may have taken Michelle’s “for the first time in my adult life I am proud to be an American”. We black folks know what she was saying. I feel like I am finally being represented. I know that if we unite we can elect a black man as president. If we all vote we can make the change that Obama is speaking about. I can’t afford to be a Repubician. I also can’t let my vote be uncounted. In the primaries I was told that I did not belong at the poling spot that I have been going to for many years. I paitently waited in one line to another back to the same line. It took me 2 hours to vote. I stressed to the poll workers that I was not leaving without voting and I was not voting on a paper ballet. My husband was not so lucky. He had to vote on a paper ballet, not because the computers were down but because someone decided for him to do so and he accepted it. He knows better now. If we have to have a stand off this November to vote on the computers provided we are not leaving until our vote is counted now and not tossed out later.
My FYI is don’t allow someone to tell you that you can’t vote here, you don’t belong to vote here. If you know the precient that is your voting destinaition never let them steer you away. I am a stubborn person. I do know my rights and never push me away. It has not been that long ago that woman could not vote or voice their voice concerning thier own body. Do we want to go back to that? I am a working wife, mother and a tax paying citizen. I am voting because it is my right and I can because some ppl made that path for me. If my candidate of choice does not win I can say that I did cast my vote and I will be allowed every right to bitch and complain about the economy if the candidate chosen is not my chose and the economy continures to faulter. I got a little bit of a raise this year $65 per week. $3380 more per year. I am just glad that I know how to be poor. No car payments for us or the kids. I can say that I still feel poor and want a change. I am rich in health and having a job to go to and a family to take care of makes my day.
LET’S BARAK THE VOTE IN 08 AND SUPPORT/PROTECT OUR WALLETS, PENSIONS /HOMES AND LIVELY HOOD.
