For the most part, we’re all good people at heart. But because of our ever-changing society, our natural inclination to help others has been stifled. For instance, due to advancements in digital communication, many of us miss the opportunities to connect to one another in person.
And because we’re not having as much people-to-people interactions, we’re missing the opportunities to know when and how we can help someone.
Fortunately, technological advancements have provided the digital-equivalent to that too.
Crowd funding sites, such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo and GoFunMe, have made it easy for everyday people to help their fellow humans in need—without ever having to lift a foot out the door. Through these websites, people are able to contribute financial donations and investments to do things like help pay for the medical bills of a sick child, help an aspiring chef get the resources needed to open a restaurant and even help a young entrepreneur fulfill her dreams.
So if you’re looking for an opportunity to show your goodwill today, we’d like to point you into the direction of crowdfunding. Your act of kindness, whether it’s as small as $1 or as big as your heart allows, can do so much to help a fellow human.
And we especially would like to highlight a cause in particular: GaBBY Bows. As a friend of BMWK, 9-year-old entrepreneur Gabrielle Goodwin is seeking contributions to help fund a new design in her innovative no-slip barrette line. She is just shy of her pledged goal, so every little bit helps. Gabby’s campaign ends July 31 (Kickstarter has an all-or-nothing policy), so do what you can to help her reach her goal.
BMWK, in what other ways to you help to show small acts of kindness and goodwiil?
