Yesterday as I walked up to Lamar and hugged him from behind, our cousin jokingly said:
“How long have you been married?”
I said: “for eight years.”
And she laughed and said: “You’ve been married for too long to still be acting like that.”
And I said: “Do you think you are supposed to get married and then all of your smooching and hugging and kissing will go away…..no way.”
Of course she was joking. But, I know that there are many people that really think that when you are no longer newlyweds, all of the lovey-dovey moments will go away. While it does happen in some marriages, it does NOT have to be that way.

Unfortunately marriage has more negative views than the truly beautiful union that it is. It is NOT the end of life as you know it. Actually the romance and dating are on another level in marriage.

These are all very accurate and true . I especially like the last one. I think if we consider that all marriages are different when sharing in discussion with other couples it would keep us from being so judgmental of other couples. We all do things that work differently for us , but yet work very well. I also thought the Shacking Vs. Marriage, was very controversial , but a very important topic. Although your relationship maybe super tight , wonderful and alll that , the honor of making your vows to the one you love before God and giving the honorable title of Husband & Wife to your special someone is uncomparable when it comes to Shacking . This is clear . Love the Site Keep Up the Great Work of empowering Couples that are Black , & Married with Kids
