I was at a family function and a family member talked about how she had forwarded an email joke and her email program accidentally populated the wrong name. Well the person that it went to seemed a little uptight and sent back en email saying she didn’t appreciate that. My family member apologized and thought this was the end of it until the other person went three levels above her to snitch to the big boss. In the end I don’t think anyone really cared except for the woman that got the email but it made me think about how you can easily slip up when sending an email.
Last year I was redoing me and TheMom’s bedroom closet and she was out of town so I was taking pictures of it and sending them to her. Well my email account was trying to help me out by auto populating and guess what? It sent the pictures to a woman I used to briefly date that i wanted no contact whatsoever with. I was afraid she’d get the email and think I was trying to float out an open line of communications… Nope.
BMWK has something like this ever happened to you where you sent something by mistake? Did the recipient act all crazy? Did you send something to someone that you didn’t want to talk to and they thought it was a sign? Let us know.

Yes, I have sent email to unintended recipients. It can be quite embarrassing, especially if you aren’t speaking nicely of the person in question. Oops!
TDJs last blog post..When Did We Become Cool Like That?
lol…That would be me.
One time I signed up for this new social networking site because it came from a trusted friend. Without paying attention I forgot to uncheck “all” from contacting my entire email list and it DID! I was getting IM’s and emails from people I havent spoken to in years… professors, people i interviewed with in the past., co-workers… A MESS!
Some were like “no spam please” and some was asking me what the application was about. I had no answer…. I wanted to crawl into a hole.
So I contacted my friend about this BS that she made he signed up for, she was like “Aww man, it go you too!?!” LOL
What a good buzz marketing scam. I immediately removed my account.
I have one better. I’m an attorney in Alabama. There is an Alabama Trial Lawyers listserv. Mr. Raymond Johnson, https://www.raymondjohnsonlaw.com/, mistakenly sends an email to the ENTIRE ALABAMA TRIAL LAWYERS ASSOCIATION (there are a lot of trial lawywers, Alabama is tort heaven), which stated,
“Babydoll, you turned me on this morning. You made me hard. I wanted to f*** you and I will shortly, right after he leaves. I can handle you, especially in bed.

Yeahhhhhh…
exactly.
@ TDJ – uh oh
@Teems- I’m always scared when these social networks say they can pick people from your address book of that happening for that very reason. Whenever I get something like that, I think I know this person didn’t send me this mess on purpose. LOL
@Peter Wilkins – is that a true story, it’s so crazy I just had to ask. Did anyone get in touch with the guy? I wonder what his response was when he found out he sent it there?
A coworker once sent an email to our whole dept accidentally that was about finding out her man was cheating on her and how hurt she was. It was clear that she sent it by accident after the first line but I still read the whole thing (out of nosiness) and then felt guilty facing the girl after the fact.
Mine really wasn’t an accident more than it was a brain fart. I had some real problems with my commander when I was stationed in Guam. He and I just didn’t see eye to eye.
Anyway, I was also the VP of the Protestant Women of the Chapel, and I would send e-mails to the entire group updating them on upcoming events. Once a week, I would send them a little “be encouraged” message discussing how we can get through the troubles of life with the Word. In one of them, I wrote how I couldn’t stand my commander.
Well, wouldn’t you know the commander’s wife was in that list? Lord, have mercy. He and I had a nice conversation after that. I was honest with him about why I felt the way I did and didn’t try to deny it…how could I? LOL
