My daughter considers herself a princess, but the only princesses for her to try to identify with has been, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and about 5 more non-african american ones. Finally we have an african american princess my dauhter can relate to. Now don’t get me wrong, they are all beautiful princess, but when your daughter ask why are there no princess of her color or is she capable of being a princess because all she is fair skinned princess, it kind of hurts a little. So when this movie came out, I told my cousin to go take my daugher to see it right away. I’m currently deployed so I could’nt take her. She feel in love with Princess Tiana. We purchased the bedroom set to the movie, clothes, dolls and posters. I want this movie because it shows that you don’t have to be light skinned to be a princess. Even us, as african americans, can be princesses too.

I would love to win a copy for my 3 little girls..and of course myself. As a family we rarely go out to the movies because of the cost. But this movie was a must see for my girls..I loved the positive image that they showed. I cried and my 7 yr old laughed at me. My babies 2 and 3 fell asleep and I was not upset because they wasted my money ..I was happy they got to see someone on the big screen that looked like them. I would be honored!

My SON actually loved this movie and wants to see it again and again. I’d rather own the DVD than having to rent it so often.

We have a daughter that is turning 4 on March 28th and all she wants is a “Princess Tiana” birthday party!!! We have not previously watched any of the Disney Princess movies or gotten into the paraphanalia, but are really glad to see an African-American Princess. This dvd would be the PERFECT birthday gift for our daughter Lauryn. Please, please, please make her day!!!
Lekashia says
I would love to have a copy of this movie because it was so awesome to see a movie about a BLACK Princess. My daughters (10 & 3) and I really enjoyed the movie. It was funny, heartfelt, and realistic. With everything that the media portrays about females (although it was a cartoon) it was comforting to see a movie about a brown skinned princess. It’s about time and we loved it!!!
Marcie says
I would like to win a copy of Princess and the Frog because not only was it a good movie but I think that it is wonderful that there is now a black Princess…and I think it is important to teach our children that we can do anything black, white, asian, hispanic etc..
Cheryle says
My daughter is 8 and we live in a mostly white area. She wants to be like the other girls that she sees, and the image of success for her is Hanna Montana, iCarly etc. I want to show her that there are beautiful people just like her. I want this video for her collection and a reminder that God made her a beautiful brown. We need more heros for our little brown skin children to see the beauty in what they are. Too many negative messages tell them what they are not, but it is time to change that, and I think this movie is a good start.
And if I don’t win it, I will know that it went to someone who needed it more.
Thanks for giving it away.
Rio says
I would love to add the movie to our collection because it really demonstrates that with persistance during trials and tribulations in life, any dream that you have in life is obtainable.
Monique Campbell-Weaver says
I would really love to have this DVD to share as a precious momento for my three beautiful princesses. 3 years, 10 years and 18 years. We have not had the opportunity to see the movie and it would be a great family night. Since the media enjoys glorifying other princess, this is a way that my girls can see that beauty comes in all shades. They have a princess that they can relate to.

As parents of a beautiful 5 year old daughter, my husband and I feel that it is vitally important that we spend quality time and share positive experiences with her. We love to sit on our couch at home with her between the two of us watching great movies with people that look like us, that have good, wholesome and positive messages. Portrayal of positive black characters with stories that end “happily ever after” gives us as parents the opportunity to have a great time with her while viewing good age appropriate movies with her. We just love spending time together as a family!!!
Quan says
Just joined the mailing list! Thanks!! This was actually the FIRST movie my daughter has ever seen in the theaters (shes 3) and she had a BALL! She would love to have it in her collection as not only a memory of her first time at the movie theater, but just as an overall good movie to watch!
Tanya Meadows says
I never got a chance to see the movie. My son took his sister’s to see it but I was sick @ the time. I would love to be able to watch it with my two little ANGELS!! Friday nite is movie nite. This would be nice to watch together.

Flora says
I would love to have this movie to share with my step-daughter as she gets older. This movie was a great portrayal of how hard work, dedication, commitment and persistant will eventually lead to your goals, and the best part is that the characters look exactly like her.

I MUST own this DVD to watch with my future-daughter. It is a wonderful film and I’m sure she would enjoy it. She can also see herself in the movie, which is very important to me while raising a strong Black woman!
Ramona says
I have 3 princesses.. and that movie reminds them that they are Princesses and dreams do come true.. if you just believe!!

I think I should win because it is for my daughters . My 5yr old loves to sing and the songs from The Princess and The Frog are positive great songs.
Jay says
I would love to receive a copy of the Princess and the Frog. I have the doll for my daughter, but haven’t opened yet. She’s only 2 and the doll is too pretty to open right now. I also have an infant daughter. I want a copy of this movie to show them that they too are princesses. This has been a great year they have grown up in. To have a black president and a black princess is so historic. I’m so glad our kids are living the dreams that our black pioneers wanted for all of our people.
Nwenna Kai says
I am a subscriber already as well. I would love to surprise my niece with the DVD. She loves this movies and me and her actually go back and forth with analyzing the movie about its images and its subtle messages to little black girls but I would love to watch the movie with her again and go over the underlying messages in the movie so she can continue to grow into an empowered beautiful Black Goddess!!!

I would love to win this video because, it’s a reminder to women and little girls that fairytales really do come true…So often life hits hard and you loose what seems like the ability to dream again. This movie not only inspires little girls but encourages women to dream, press, believe and then see the manifestation!
Sumayya says
I would like to have the DVD because I have not had the chance to see it in the movie theatre. I would also like to present this DVD to my daughter as well as her peers in having available positive media to show now and in the future.
Sadarie says
Shortly after the birth of my baby girl, a murmur started about Disney’s first black princess. It finally came to fruition 3 years later. As a mother I was excited about the fact my daughter would be afforded the opportunity to see her own image in the Disney princess genre. The sheer delight and awe of the girls seeing Tiana–an image that mirrored themselves on the big screen was priceless. I want to continue to live that moment and share it with our family for years to come.
Shasedy says
I would love to win a copy of “The Princess and the Frog” DVD because I have 3 beautiful little black Princesses that just LOVE the movie. There is finally a positive movie for our children and children’s children to enjoy for generations to come!

I have two young ladies, that absolutely loved Princess and The Frog. Not only did they heavily anticipate the opening, my junior high daughter wrote a movie review for her school paper, the first ever to get published, so she now has a special connection to the film. My youngest daughter, who had already wanted to be a chef, is even more excited about her career choice after seeing Princess Tiana follow her dreams.
Trish says
I have several nieces and goddaughters who know they are “Black Pincesses”! I would love to win the movie to show at our movie night with the family at our upcoming “Family Reunion 2010”! Thank You for selecting my family as one of the winners. Congratulation to the other two winners as well!!! BLESSINGS!!!

My daughter had her 1st bday party with a Princess Tiana theme this past weekend and all that was missing was this DVD (because it wasn’t out yet). This would be a great gift to the both of us. We LOVE the movie and I wouldn’t have to spend any more money.
TD says
I would love to have this video because I would give it to my 10 yr old niece. I am glad there is finally a positive african american character that girls can look up to and relate. I am not sure if she has someone like that because she lives so far away from me. I am looking to visit her sometime this year and would love to surprise her with it.
Susan Clay says
I would love to have this DVD to watch with my grandchildren. I have 3 girls who are 14, two 5 year olds, and my grandson who is 3. We love watching movies together when I visit them, its a money saving past time thing to do. We always end our weekend visits with church and we include an outing. A good family movie is always a good “sit down and pay attention” activity for us.
Jamille says
I have two daughter’s and one is a toddle while the other is 16. We all went to go and see this movie together at a preview before it came out. I want this DVD simply because it’s history; the look on my 16yr old’s face was priceless when I turned my head to look at her – at her age she was even thrilled to see that there was a Disney character that looked like her on the big screen and not animals representing the mother land which links to us as african americans. There are 3 main reasons – #1 because the father that sat behind us with his daughter told her that this was the best princess out of all the Disney movies & that she looked just like him, #2 because I have a teenager who STILL loves Disney movies and believe it or not gives her more confidance as an African American young lady and #3 because I have a toddler who needs to see that chocolate princesses do exist especially being that she looks up to her bigger sister who is by far a princess with a humble heart….

I have never seen this movie , but I believe that it would be a great movie to share with my grandaugher. She is so beautiful as is all children. It would be her movie to see at Nana’s house.
Shonda says
I would like the DVD because for me it is a symbol of movement in the US. For YEARS when I was growing up I wished for a black princess to come out. I LOVED Disney princess’s and still have a strong fondness for them. But, now to have a daughter who loves them as much as I did growning up and for this beautiful black princess to be in her generation does a black mom’s heart good! Even if I didn’t win a DVD of Princess and the Frog I would still purchase it for my daughter, because it means a lot and I’ll be able to explain where we were as a race and to where we are now! Thanks for the opportunity!
Carla says
I would really love to have the DVD because I am glad to know that I have lived long enough to see an african american princess be portrayed in a movie where my students can relate to on another level.
I teach school and know, first hand, how we have so few examples to look to in movies and in our world.
Also, I believe that like in the movie, this can come to fruition in many lives!
Sparkle says
I have heard about how good of a movie it is, but unfortunately my kids & I haven’t seen it, so we would love to have the dvd.
Renee says
I just subscribed! I’d love to win a copy because I loved the way my niece describes Tiana as a “pretty brown girl like me.” Warms my heart every time! 🙂
Alica Love says
I would love to win this DVD…My girls have seen it and they just love it, but my little cousin who is 2 years old haven’t seen it and I would love to be able to get this DVD and give it to her.. Her mom is really unfit and doesn’t do anything for her… She is a beautiful little girl whom we have tried our hardest to get custody of her but the courts won’t give her to us..I’m working part time and my husband just recently lost his job so winning this DVD for her would mean so much to me.
Jacqueline Adams says
I would love to watch with my husband of 29 years and see with my granddaughter from out of town. We tend to watch movies or do things to keep the family grounded.
Dee Thomas says
I would love to win the copy as I have a princess of my own, who would think I was the best mother in the world if I got it for her

I would love to have it for my boys. I know it’s a diferent spin on all the budding princesses out there but they need to recognize that true beauty comes in black too. It would be a great addition to our video collection because we love good movies. The icing on the cake is the beautiful black princess in there too. One day they will be interested in girls and they will have a positive black image to recall. Thank you
